As above, my 20 year old mare is sporadically leaking clear fluid from both her teats. Any ideas why this should be? I have read clover can cause this and we do have a lot of clover this year so she is now in a paddock with the least clover. She is only grazing for 2.5 hrs per day and is muzzled as she is EMS. She spends rest of time in a dry lot with barn, bedding etc. No hard feed, only soaked and rinsed hay plus one section of dry very coarse Timothy hay per day. She does also have fairly mild CPL and I was wondering if the leaking teats are related to dodgy lymphatics. Thanks for reading.

Metabolic syndromes can cause mares to leak fluid. Keep and eye on her udder for extensive heat or swelling (mastitis) and watch for flies being drawn to it more. Is she on any medication for the EMS? If not might be worth looking into.

Thanks for your reply and comments. She is not on any medication at the moment but has had metformin in the past when she had laminitis. Thinking about it, she may be be teetering (accidental pun) on the edge of another attack so will consult vet although I don't think they have much faith in metformin from what I remember.
