Yes & yes eventually
Only have mares and they have toilet areas so if they don't change frequently it burns it off.
Does fill in but seems to take a full growing season.
Not really thought about whether it is specific to their seasons or whether its just gallons in the same spot, but we only ever have a few patches, also never felt the need to do anything about it either.
Maybe there is a definitive answer.

I only have geldings and their wee also scorches the grass so don't think it is just a mare thing.
