Mark Davies Injured Riders charity - still operating?

As above, is the Mark Davies Injured Riders still operating? I referred someone to it yesterday, before looking at the website, which is clunky to say the least. The list of Trustees are nearly all older than me, which makes them pretty ancient, so I wondered what state it is in.

I never see any fund raising efforts, at one time there was a lot.

It has gone rather quiet of late. There were a number of posts on their FB page in 2024 so there was still someone doing their socials then.

Mark’s death (along with his horse) at Burghley was in 1988, so his parents’ generation will be rather older now.

Yes, I remember it happening, and then there was a huge fund raising operation.
I know Mark's mother died and the people who knew him personally will be so much older now.

But I referred someone who has been injured, so I hope there is support still available.

They are still active on the Charity Commission site with funds in their accounts.

They weren't at Hickstead this year - at least I didn't see them. I normally have a browse in their stand as they sometimes have some nice summer stuff!

The web site easily showed the current Patron, Zara Tindall plus all the Vice Presidents - some of those are pterry young and many are very welll known. Still prety active I would say and deserves the support of every horse rider.

I think that's the Injured Jockey - I think they might be seperate entities?

They do usually have some nice sumner stuff on their stands though & I missed them too (I usually get a linen top or two) - I'm hoping they are there for the RIHS

No, definitely MDIRF. It's where I first came across them. I still have a carrier bag somewhere with it on!

I wonder if I was looking at an older website somehow? Yes, that is a good list of Patrons and a younger age group. Oh well, that is good that I haven't given someone some bad information.
