Mark Todd coolex multie purpose travel stable rug! what do we think are they as good as the Thurmatex? for cooling off? do they stretch like thrmatex? any thoughts?

I have 2 Mark Todd Coolex turnouts, have to say I like the rug but the quality is poor, and I am now selling them after last winters season.

I have the cooler and the turnout. Both are recent purchases so have had little use yet.

I don't consider the turnout to be a heavy weight, but it does work as a wicking turnout.

The cooler does dry well

Ive got a MT Coolex & ive just replaced it with a Thermatex which is far better.
The Coolex i have is a 6'9 & should fit my WB however it's far to small. It fits my TB who is a 6'3 rug size perfectly, ive been very dissapointed with my Coolex, it does wick but it is quite heavy.

The hardware on mine have rusted away, leaving only one buckle on the front and belly clips that are very hard to do up due to rust

Not what you'd expect from an £80 rug

I love my MT Coolex, I was very concerned about the Thermatex slipping back as I'd seen this on all the TBs and Warmbloods at my old yard. The Welsh Cob is alot wider up front than a TB so I went for the Coolex instead.

I'd recommend it, never have any problems, I do think its heavier than a Thermatex but not so much that it would be a problem

I love mine. My mare is really between rug sizes, and it is one of the few in 6'3 that fit her properly. I have no rust on any of my rugs metal work, and it really keeps her warm whilst drying her off. They keep their shape better than thermatex's too IMHO. I ill get her another one when I have the ££!!

I love it, far better than the thermatex IMO. For a start it has practical buckles (reason i didnt want the thermatex i hate those fastenings with a passion!!) also i dont think it stretches like the thermatex does. All thermatexs i have ever used have slipped on the horse and pull at the fastenings so the end up tearing under pressure. Love my mark todd 10 times more!
