I recently purchased a mark Todd rug liner advertised that it has large rings to use in conjunction with the leg straps of a top rug.

As I have JHL and mark Todd rugs I felt this would provide the horse with a good fitting under rug that doesn't move and rub as would be attached directly to the top rug via the leg straps.

Having fitted the rug which is 6'3 to both my mt rug which is 6'3 and JHL which is 6'6 it doesn't fit under either. To attach to the top rug by the leg straps causes the top rug to Lift as the rings on the liner are so far up they are only suitable to use with a fillet string which then causes the liner to slip. Or attach via the leg straps and the liner hangs 6 inches out of the bottom of the top rug and then gets wet and muddy.

I've spoken to Westgate efi who originally said it was my fault as I was using a JHL rug, then admitted the liner didn't fit either the JHL or mt when using the leg straps and that some of their retailers are marketing them as compatible with MT rugs yet the fittings don't correspond with that. That because Westgate efi have the quote Single stitched belly strap, front clips, large rings to use in conjunction with the leg straps of a top rug, can be used with a filet string (not supplied)

I'm so frustrated I purchased the rug for a specific reason and it doesn't do what it says on the packet. I've been offered to return it but of course once I've washed it and paid for the £7 in postage.

Anyone else's noticed the same problem or is it just me.

Westgate efi have now offered to refund the liner and for me to keep it which is great but what to do with a liner that's doesn't fit any other rugs, slips and all the other liners they are selling that don't fit and people will be out of pocket ?

sew some circingles on it and use it as a stable rug!

It seems from what you've written that it's the stockists that are mis selling this product not the company that makes them?
