Does anyone have the mediumweight Mark Todd stable rug? They navy one with wavy stitching along it?
My horse is a 6'6" in the MT turnout rugs, yet I tried on her new MT stable rug and it was about an inch too short in length and about three inches too short in depth... has anyone else found this with these rugs?
I bought it as I want a 250g ish stable rug as her thickest one, I didn't like the 220g quiltMasta one and I can't find anyone else who does a 250g ish stable rug. I can't decide now whether to keep the 6'6" MT, exchange it for a 6'9" MT which will hang off her bum a bit (but then it doesn't have a tail guard) or try and find another make of rug? I hate making decisions!

Have you measured the rug Rachel? Occassionally, the start of a batch can come up a bit shorter than the end of a batch due to the way they cut a big 'pile' of them. I measured a load of my rugs once (all the same size!) & they varied by about 4 inches from smallest to biggest! If you think the rug is not a true size, you could look to exchange it at the shop & the shop should return it as faulty (or get a credit to sell it off cheaply).

Coppertop posted a photo of her horse in the Mark Todd middleweight rug the other week (see picture gallery) - she seemed pleased with hers - maybe ask her if it fitted as she expected it to fit...

That's surprising that they can vary in size that much, especially with supposed three inch intervals between sizes! Will grab my measuring tape tomorrow and have a look how long it really is, and measure my MT turnouts as well which are both 6'6". I just expected the stable rug to fit as the turnouts did, wasn't prepared for the lack of rug at the back and bottom! I'm thinking that I'd probably be better off getting it swapped for a 6'9" and having a horse with a cosy bum!
Thanks for the hint about the other post, will go see if I can find it!

I have two of these rugs, both one size up from their usual, which makes the sort of 'guttering' bit at the end hang over their botties a bit but their usual size was just too small!

LBO looked a bit like he was wrapped up in a duvet but he seems to like it nonetheless & it stays put overnight!

Thanks for that JAK, looks like it's going to have to be a trip back to the tack shop on Tuesday! Good job too, I forgot loads of stuff in my rug-buying frenzy!
I suppose it won't matter really if the rug hangs over her bum as there is no tail flap to weigh it down and pull it back over her shoulders (problem I had with Weatherbeeta turnout rugs). I'm taking my mum up to the yard this afternoon to get her opinion, but I reckon it's a 6'9" job. Darned long-backed horse!
