We have a 10hh pony that we need to sell/loan this year who is a great first-ridden but is quite lightly built so only suitable for pretty small/young riders. He is great on the lead rein too, of course, but it seems a shame to restrict him to just that as he is such a game little guy. Though he’s a nice looking pony he’s not a show pony but has done gymkhana games and could jump.

We’re in France and there is really isn’t much of a market round us for little ponies and I’m wondering if we have a better chance of finding a good family home in the UK where there is far more of a culture for children having ponies at home. I could get him taken over to the UK and temporarily homed with friends whilst looking for a permanent home but I’ve been away too long to know if I’m right about him having a better future there. What do you think?

Yes definitely. Admittedly it'll be outgrown quick, but its not like 11h lasts forever. Would have bit your hand off a few years ago.

Am looking for something similar right now to start my two year old daughter on. Something small and quiet enough for her to go off lead rein when she's a bit older, but will also do all the pony club stuff for her later on. I think a pony like yours would be snapped up over here.

Thanks, it is tempting to send him over. If I could place him with a family that is well involved in the pony club or such like it would hopefully secure him a "safe" future by word of mouth.
Obviously can't advertise him here but if anyone is really interested PM me and I can send warts and all details though would have a preference for the south east of England so that I can keep a better track of what happens to him!

OP please PM me with further info and contact details, I will pass them on to my friend who I think could be interested. They are a knowledgeable competition home with their own land inc floodlit school and have 2 daughters aged 2 and 5 who your pony could be ideal for. Based in South East too :-)
