does anyone use one.My 15 year old thorughbrud sticks his head up in the airas soon as i want 2 do anything except walk. would like 2 ride without a battle to keep his head down.tried trainin aids but as soon as they r took off his head is up again and back 2 square 1.

I used one on my mare I had 10 years ago she was a tb ex racer. She used to go around with her head in the air. I used it for jumping mainly. I would definately take Scotsmare's advice though and get some professional advice as a bit of schooling might help.

I've had horses that have been ridden in a Market Harborough and found it took ages to get them to go forward into a proper contact they just trundle round with the head in the right place put without engaging properly. It'll be ashort term fix but if he is that unwilling to go on the bit there might be an underlying problem and as soon as you ride normally he'll revert.

Personally I'd get his teeth, back and saddle checked first. Then I'd want to try and work out what it is about his bit action or your riding that he is resisting so strongly.
