market harborough

Providing a horse is ok healthwise...teeth back etc,it can be used as a training aid, especially for horses that like to charge round with their noses in the air

,my horse when he was a baby used to school fine but hack out with his ears between my eyes

,the market harborough helped me no end

,as long as it isnt used to tight and the horse is encouraged to use his behind it can be a useful piece of kit short term, however i dont believe it should be used to force a horses nose in

In effect it is a fixed draw rein, the draw rein is clipped onto the normal rein at whatever length you choose and is always in effect, when you pull it make the draw reins shorter.

Providing you set it on the loosest setting and she is made to ride the horse into the contact, then it can be of great help

,basically the longer the rein the less effect it has,as you shorten it prevents horse poking nose/sticking head in the air!
However am sure with perseverance and lots of schooling/lessons things will click with daughter and horse without aids,i would advise it whilst hacking as it keeps horses head were needed, strops in school are ok but obviously with new horse you want to be able to deal with strops out hacking without its head in your face
