Hi everyone,
I have just bought a market harborough for my horse who I have had for nine months after being told by his previous owners that he was jumped in one of these.
I know how to fit it and everything but am unsure as to which bit I can use it in conjunction with, he is ridden in a hanging cheek snaffle with a lozenge in the middle and am worried incase this is incorrect.
I have read in several places that it should only be used with a snaffle but it does not say which type

Please help!
Thanks,

They are used with a snaffle to the signals are not confused. Using a MH to keep the carriage low, then a gag to lift the head isn't really fair and hopefully the horses shows his unhappiness!
I use the MH with all the snaffles, depending on which mouth piece the horse likes. It may be that with the harboro' in place you can 'downgrade' the snaffle, and just use a plain action one, still with a lozenge if required. Keep an eye on your horse, he'll show you when he's not happy.

Wow! Thank you! I feel much better now, I would hate to be doing any harm to him, he gets his head up when jumping so it will really help me out! What height can you jump up to in one? Thanks ever so much
