According to Sharon Quigleys blog on Q Sport Horses, he's retiring in 7 weeks. What a shame not to be able to watch him ride anymore, he's one of my favourites.

I agree with Sharon that it's a shame there isnt more of a spectacle when top riders retire - most just seem the dirft away and then a few years later someone goes "whatever happened to..." !
 
The news was in H & H in the report on the British Open. He's not the greatest of riders as he has often said himself, but he's done a lot for the sport, and I imagine will still be on the scene as a show organiser.
