Watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire this week one of the questions was what breed was Marley. Their answer was a Golden Lab but I thought he was a retreiver. To save me rooting the book out can someone tell me what he was please?

Golden Lab. I cant watch it - watched it twice now and it makes me cry for days! mike and I watched it the week before Chlo was diagnosed and we both SOBBED for a very long time!

Ooooh I was so sure he was a retriever!! I have read the book which had me howling with laughter and in floods of tears. I cannot watch the film past halfway as I know it will make me sad.

Think Mattilda was meaning golden retriever as against labrador retriever. I've still not been brave enough to watch Marley & Me, or read the book. Certainly won't be risking it at the mo after losing Saff last month.:(

It's not too bad. I can't even look at the DVD box cover of Watership Down without fits of hysteria, but I've M&M and only cried at the end. I actually find crying at it to be quite theraputic when I'm feeling stressed.

Read the book though. It is a beautiful piece of work and only sad in the last chapter.

This is a lovely pic of the real Marley

Don't watch it! Husband and I were absolutely howling at the end, tears streaming down our faces. Our Lab had soooooo many cuddles that evening!
