Just wondered if anyone had any past experiences of seeing demos by either of these two? They are both giving demos nearish me and I can only afford to go to one and don't know which one to choose!

If it makes a difference I don't have my own horse but do ride a share horse twice a week. Sometimes in the past I have come away from demo's downhearted because I feel I will never be as good as the riders shown and never have the chance to ride such good horses

Ive seen JLC a few times and have to say found her a bit dull

.

Having just read MKs autobiography I would go for her but havent actually been to one of her demo's.

I've seen both in action and if its entertainment you want i'd go with MK and if its detail you want i'd go JLC ( but have to agree that she is very dull in her presentation ).

I would say Mary King. I did see her Demo at YHL and it was fantastic (from someone who is a bit scared to jump) she made sense and showed how jumps can be made from every day things we all have kicking around the yard

Not been to a JLC but went to a Mary King demo years ago, and I can still remember a lot of the exericses she demonstrated, and I use them frequently too. It was great!

I saw a showjumping demo by Mary King a few weeks ago and she explained things really clearly, from basics upwards so I think any level of rider would have gained some knowledge from it, and it was really interesting and enjoyable.
I also saw JLC give a demo in the main arena at Blenheim in 08, and was blown away by how her horses went, but would suggest hers would be more suitable if you are interested in straight dressage. She had a four year old there who had only been broken in about five weeks before - well it was stunning, what an outline already, it looked like it had been doing dressage for years. Then she put an event rider on one of her advanced dressage horses and had them doing one-step flying changes down the arena, it really was good to watch, the horse was far more responsive than the riders could cope with JLC wouldn't let them stop till they got it right, very funny!
