I think she was just brilliant. Fab dressage and she went for it cross-country. And does it all with the most brilliant smile. Have just watched recording of it. She should be icon for all women in their forties. I am inspired! I really want her to win a medal now. Go Mary!

I agree, she is a superb ambassador for the sport. My fingers will be tightly crossed for an individual medal for her, hopefully gold. She has done so much...for sooo long. An amazing woman, and she must be a real morale booster for the rest of the team.

Yep! She's great and despiter her fortysomething years, my 9yo is jumping up and down for her. Ellen who?!

My 5 year old daughter isnt interested in usual girls stuff, like dancing lesson, hasnt got a clue about High School Musical - all the girls in her class are obsessed with...but she can name most of the top event riders and could pick Mary King out in a crowd...we went to Bramham this year, and the highlight of her day was seeing MK flash past......

I remember watching her win badminton in '92 i was a mear 9yrs old. She was fab then and is still now, come on mary bring a medal home you deserve it

I can remember watching her on King Boris etc as a child, and find it so inspiring that she is still at the top of the game now im an adult many years later.
Was at burghley the year she had the steeplechase problem, and at badminton this year where she has the fall. No matter what happens she remains professional, smiling to the end.
She was a role model to me growing up, and she will be a role model for my kids, as there is no better sportswoman.
