Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about massaging horses, especially with essential oils, as I am interested in doing this for my horse as she has a muscular problem in on of her hind legs and I wondered if it would help.

Thanks x

My boy has old shoulder muscle problems, and I bathe the area with hot/warm water with arnica massage balm in it - he absolutely loves it. The heat does loosen him up a bit and I feel the arnica helps too.

How much do you put in it and what other oils can you use?. It would be interesting to try it out. Would it matter if you use cheaper oils (know nought about aromatherapy).

My friend uses an Embrocation Spray from Barrier Health and swears by it. Don't know what it contains though.

Hi, you can just use your palms to massage, I mean that you don`t have to massage with any oils. If you can feel the problem area or you know where the tightness is then you can massage it with your palm in a circular motion all around the area. Horses love massage anywhere on the body, but don`t massage on the bony parts.
