Fly bashed his head hard on the overhang of the stable as he tried to leap out of his doorway. It obviously hurt like hell as he did 2 mini rears in pain and hung his head at an angle for a couple of minutes with his ears flat back as i tried to soothe him. Think hes ok, turned him out and hes eating but I am so worried about him. Can't see any swelling....YET, will check later. Don't know if he hit his poll or front of his face (browband area). What a twat. He must have the mother of headaches. Hope hes ok, what adverse symptoms should I look out for?

I'd get the vet to check him just in case, hope he's ok

Just hope he will walk back in his stable as a friends horse did the same thing and it then took a long while before he would go back in without putting up a fight.

Rang the vets and they said to keep an eye on him generally, ie, no loss of appetite and no huge swellings. If he looks listless or unstable to phone them. Bloody hell, if its not one thing its another! Looks like another sleepless night, its worse than having kids! xx

One of the horses in our yard freaked out in his stable (stone-built) and virtually knocked himself out. He was fine (which is surprising) so they must have incredibly tough skulls.
