Please can you all send my neighbour's mare some get well vibes she has been down this morning with Colic.. :( :(
I left my work to go and help her out the mare is 24 and usually fiesty but she certainly isn't well today been walking her around the paddock waiting for the vet to arrive in the attempt to stop her from going down again.

She got to her this am and she was down in her stable (so unusual for her) so thought nothing more of it, turned her out and she went straight down flat out in the pouring rain... she then called me.... glad she did to be honest.

Vet has been and she is NOT impacted which is a great relief BUT her colon has built up gasses that are pushing her intestines over to the left, vet tubed her up her nose to give her fluids to try and push gasses out, took bloods and gave pain relief my neighbour now has (in process of right now) walking her mare around to encourage the gasses out.

If this is not successful by say 1pm then she will be admitted into the Horspital and put on a drip for couple of days until things start improving.... if not then the only other option would be surgery(but this isn't an option) so really really hoping and praying for her to get better VERY quickly!!!

So please send what vibes you can..... I know she will appreciate it loads...
 
Poor mare and owner must be going out of her mind with worry!

thanks for the vibes but please keep them coming...

I had to take afternoon off work to rush her up to vets she went down hill again sadly, her left side is quite distended where the gasses are building up and pushing everything over... :( :(

She tried going down with me whilst walking her about til trailer turned up - hubby and mares owner went off to pick it up from my yard...(thank god I have the disco) it seemed like forever they went but got her on and off we went.... journey seemed to take forever!!

They have put her straight onto fluids for her dehydration and push more gas out, they lunged her, mare's owner still at vets with her...
It has brought back so many memories as only 2yrs ago I was at the vets saying goodbye to my precious boy... so I gave her a big hug and kiss said to behave herself and see her soonies...

Her owner has just popped in to say she has been lunged and was flirting with some geldings so here's hoping that is a good sign.
they will call her later this evening and after last checks so hope I get some better news too!

Please keep those vibes coming....
 
Well seems like your vibes are working as I may be going to collect her this afternoon? all being well again, her mummy is up there now seeing her so will hear back later if she is coming home or not today, fingers crossed she does go home :)
 
Sending big vibes from paddy irish ( big , very hansom boy , single at the mo ) this should get her interest up if she's up for flirting with boys she's only just met!!

Thank you all again seems that she is better today, we can go and collect her at 4.15pm bit of a rubbish time as I have to get my lad in by 5 at weekends, so he will have to come in earlier :(

At least Missy moo is allowed to come home, she's been on the walker this morning too, they want to do one more rectal before she leaves just to make sure everything is going down inside and no more balloning!

Knew she was a tough old bird!!! :D :D
