Yes, I know! (He has done some modeling work, iam a very lucky cousin to have such a nice cousin!)

Belgian Draft? Percheron?
As for height, it isn't going to be as big as 18hh (My partner is 6'4 and my shire 18.1, and partner looks a lot smaller in comparison, I would say 17.2 tops, probs about 17hh)

If the picture had been taken in North America I would say Percherons, they are usually black here, and massive.

at my old livery there was a belgium draft horse called samson they look very like him except he was a pale ish chestnut he was 16.3hh but just simply MASSIVE!! huuuuge head etc just stocky as anything. chestnuttymare i dont do sharing

Are they Ardennes?

.

I doubt they are Ardennes - they tend to be shorter (15hh) and wider with a little feather along the back if the legs.

I never even looked at the man - is that sad?????

Nope, they are a one colour breed, sorrel with flaxen mane and tail. I live in 'Blonde' country, very popular over here.

Phwor... sod the horse! The cousin isn't bad either, eh?!. VERY nice conformation. And the horses aren't bad either!!!!

I (we) think the horses are percheron but not confirmed! I just thought they were always grey for some reason!!???
Jason is a very cool cousin, I haven't seen him now for about 3 years, so I must insist on a family meet up!
Thanks guys - glad we all have taste!!

Friend of mine used to loan a Belgian Draught horse. He was most definately bay.

Not massively tall, but built like a rhino.

I had a ride on him once - ooh, lovely!

The American Belgian Draft is sorrel, the American Brabant/Belgian is roan or bay so yes you are right.

The Belgian Drafts in my area are all socking great white faced, blonde maned sorrels.

hee hee! Not even my friend!!! It was the Belgian Draught!!!

Look like percherons to me - they come in grey or black, no other colour, and for a draught horse, neat feet and heads - due to having arab blood way back put in them. They also have very little hair on the legs and an amazing temperament.

If I did not love the hairy clydesdale so much, this would be my choice of heavy horse.
