just curious if anyone else is experience difficulties with this type of rug. The first rug i had when attached to the neck one of the 3 D rings (where attached) came away within the first 4 weeks i just put it down to my chap being too athletic in it. Then followed the other 2 rings resulting in one day horse being in the field with the neck over his head and in a fit of panic he shredded the whole rug!! I did put it down to being unlucky and i really liked the rug, and so bought another!! Its 3 weeks old and the first d ring has come away!!!

what should i do, ive looked on the masta home page for a email address and ive tried to phone and got no where with either!!

>A...would you keep trying to complain???
>B...put it down to horse not being suitable for rug and forget about it???
>C...get rug repaired and stop moaning???

thanx for any advice!!

I've encountered the exact same with Masta rugs in recent months, including both neck straps breaking within weeks on a barely-worn rug and the shoulder darts coming unstitched and unravelling. They have also changed the pattern that most of the rugs are cut to, with the result that they no longer fit my horse!

It saddens me as the first rug I ever bought for my horse four years ago was a Masta, it was a brilliant fit and is still going strong to this day with not so much as a rip in it. I think they have changed their manufacturing methods for the worse.

A. If the rug fits the D should not come off in 3 weeks!
Dont really like Masta rugs, they usually rip along the seams and are very shallow fit wise.

I really never understand why so many people hate Masta. I have used absolutely loads of them and NEVER had one leak, rip, break or slip. Mine have worn them out 24/7 for six months at a time. I do agree they don't suit everything, but what rug does?

Ditto the above, I also find they fit my ID (7'3) perfect and she s both wide and long. I also find them to have good depth too......

I had one and it ripped completely very quickly - have not had any problems with my other rugs though the denier is more - Masta was only 600 denier were as my aeroborn is 1800 so should be twice as strong.

I needed a new LW turnout and local tack shop are masta fans so only other choice they had was loveson so will have to see if that is any better!

I actually have a Masta Check-Tech and love it!! Lasted my boy the whole winter- though I did need to get it repaired once when he ripped it-- one of the leg straps came off and one of the surcingles too...

Apart from that there was a bit of general wear nd tear which I put down to being from the barbed wire!

No where near as bad as my previous rugs XD

i only have one masta rug - a check tec high neck.
It has been on every horse i own pretty much and has one small rip inside.
It is 3ys old and has never leaked.

It is all down to personal preferance isnt it - i LOVE weatherbeeta rugs but people on here hate them!

I would complain directly to masta - if it happens again then maybe just put it down to the rug not being suitable to your boy!

i have had my masta rug 4 yrs and the only problem i have had with it was when my mare kicked the lad and ripped it with her shoe. it was also a checktech one.

i was you i would take it back to the shop you got it from and request and refund(if you have the recipt) or a alternative replacement
