my horse has completely recked a masta checktech in nine days is this a record? the front strap has come off completely has anyone else had this problem?

I'd be tempted to wreck the horse!
I've got a couple of Masta Checktechs & have been pleased with them. I like the price, they fit my lad really well & have stood up to a lot of playing. Maybe you got a faulty one? It could be worth speaking to your supplier or Masta!

took the rug back to the shop i bought it at they refused to replace it or give a refund they are going to ring masta on monday. tack shop said it would be cheaper to get rug repaired than to send it back to masta as they'll more than likely say my horse did the damage
i had one last year which was great, but my horse out grew it

The rug has to be fit for the purpose it was sold for so turnout rugs should be able to take a reasonable amount of wear & tear. On that basis I think the shop may have a legal obligation to replace it, refund you or make good the damage but I'd maybe check with CAB on Monday morning before you speak to the shop.

Original poster doesn't mention what the actual damage is to the rug....'completely wrecked' tends to say that it is ripped to pieces. I appreciate that a rug should be fit for the purpose it was purchased for however they have to have a breaking point otherwise it would be dangerous for the horse. I think we all also know that horses are extremely destructive & are quite capable of wrecking rugs. It depends on the damage to the rug as to if it would be replaced...I don't expect it will be, NARI, you have the same model & say you have had no problems.Based just on this I think it will be unlikely you will get refund/replacement.

What damage exactly? I must say I have a masta check tech and I think its great. Its on a baby its lasting very well. Could it be that yours is faulty in anyway??

It's Helenlwatt's rug that's wrecked, not mine! Fingers crossed mine have worn really well & I'm very pleased with them
