Only anecdotal and not witnessed myself but i have heard smart but "tricky". Friend had one years ago which literally threw everyone else on the ground other than him. It would NOT let anyone else on his back. Could not convince it otherwise...
Why do you think they called him Imp?
I have had two, one shockingly talented, def 4* potential, never made an effort before 1.20m, as idle and evasive and cheeky as they come. Sold as a 5 yr old, jumping DC BE100. Now 2* with amateur as 7 yr old.
Second one, also unbelievably talented, SHARP SHARP SHARP. Took me on one of the best hunts I think I'll ever have, with only the huntsman, the whip, the fieldmaster and me left.
Would not settle to eventing, is now one of the best hunters in the country, I cried buckets when I dropped him off at his new home, and I sell 50+ horses a year.
Mine preferred bucking to breathing until he was ten but he was a cool little chap loved hunting did not enjoy showjunmping one bit so his eventing career was short he was not a trusting horse you had to earn his trust .
I had him PTS just ater Christmas I miss him still.
I would not rush to get another.
I have a 5 yr old by him at the moment, and he's probably one of the naughiest horses I've ever ridden! Seriously into playing, with u on his back as well as life in general. Very athletic, SUPER intelligent, bold as brass and needs to learn to knuckle down!
