Does any body else have a horse by this stallion?

just bought a four yo to event by this sire and i wondered if anyone else had a another sibling, do they make good event horses?

I know of a few by him all bays and look the same lol. There are lots about by him the ones i know seem very willing.

Know 2 grey ones. One doing PN's nicely and the other just starting out again after a bad start, and looked very nice at his 1st RC Intro Dressage.

I have a 17hh 6 year old gelding by Master Imp. I can't really answer the bit about good event horses as we don't properly event. He is as honest as the day is long to a fence though and has plenty of jump. He was very sharp and a bit quirky as a 4/5 year old but has settled into a real saint and is no longer phased by much!

Thanks MBGG, he is so gorgeous, my mare looks just like him but is bay!

She is very very hot to ride, its feels like a timebomb waiting to go off, but you have reassured me that hopefully she will settle down!

Hi,

I know lots and lots by him! and have one myself out of a KOD mare. What can I say, well for starters they don't come in chestnut! Seriously they can be great but are often quirky(which many top ones are) and on occassion downright piggish. Generally they like work. I know of two that went to the factory for behaviour. As with all horses though they all have a mother and IMO this is more important. Mandiba is by him and though the olympics this year were arguably a bit much for him he is a good horse. Over here Master Mexico with Mike Ryan is much fancied. They generally sell well. May I ask what your horses damline is?

There are loads by MI that event. The ones I know have loads of talent but quirky as youngsters.

I have a 3yo by Master Imp. Master Imp won the 6yo stats last year as well as 3rd in the 7yo stats for most eventing points won with BE I think it is in their download section One of his offspring Kings Master was also 4th in the 6yo stats last year and I have a colt foal by him this year.

Both Stallions stand at Slyguff stud , Bagenalstown with Barbera Hatton they were bred by her late father Loftus O Neill who was a legend
Loftus bred King of Diamonds that features in so many stallion lines

Master Imp is a TB stallion which is why he goes so well on a half bred mare he is 22 next year a Dark bay a stunning horse that adds power and speed he sired 82 foals last year and has 1332 registerd foals

Golden Master is another of his offspring who stands at Slyguff who is a young stallion with only a couple of years breeding behind him and 36 foals registered another Master Imp stallion with a great future

They also stand Balda Beau and Grand Plaisir

In the right hands out of a decent mare they are awesome

I have a 5 yo by him and he is an absolute saint. Really steady and a delight to handle. I feel very lucky to have found him. I am sure he is going to be a great eventer (already has a bit of a record) - more talented than me so will have to find a rider for him when he goes beyond Novice

I have one, the standard Master Imp bay gelding, he was however a seriously quirky young horse he is now 12 and the one of the best hunters I have ever had as a competion horse his quirks made it much more fun to get another.
Despite that I don't regret buying him as I have had loads of fun hunting him( he also hates my husband and bucks him off whenever he feels like it so he's my hunt vehicle and no chance of being expected to hand him over if the OH horse is lame LOL)

I had one that we unfortunately lost as a 7yr old. He was by MI out of a Cavalier mare. Moved like a dream, forward and straight. Bought him as a 16.1 4 yr old and ended up over 17hds. I was told he would grow into a sharp (from MI) thug (from Cavalier). He was dead easy to brake and even as a 7yr old I could climb on him in the field during the holidays and ride bareback in headcolar. However once in work he was sharp (not nasty and only bucked twice in the tim e we had him), he could scare other riders by marching off with them in walk! He was spooky and grew into a giant at shows. A lovely lovely horse and my horse of a lifetime.

Although he had a great jump and looked/moved the part he wouldn't event as he was just not brave enough.

A friend has a lovely four year old Master Imp filly for sale that she brought over from Ireland - they are known to be a bit sharp but as yet hers has been super

I have personal experience of four.....all of them were 'characterful' or quirky.....the mares probably being more opiniontated than the geldings. In the right hands they can excel, but the two that belonged to someone else that I had to re-school were a nightmare and were subsequently sold on to more 'professional' riders.

i have a 6 yh old mare by him , i have heard they are amazing eventers and showjumpers. mine can be strong on the cross country coarse but yet she is very willing.
