Masterclip HD Roamer Clippers, any good?

I'm not sure about the Roamers, but I have the Rangers. Initial thought was "too cheap", but in fairness for the price, they're really good. My old cob had a winter coat like an Shetland crossed with a sheep, and it still went through without a complaint. I haven't heard much bad about Masterclip as a brand.

I'm just about to buy some of these. There is a review in one of the horse magazines this month (possibly your horse) which says that the users found them a bit 'unbalanced' due to the battery pack and they didn't leave a particularly good clip but they were clipping a thin coated horse with medium blades. Having read the review I am still going ahead with buying them. I need a heavy duty cordless clipper and the only other options in my price budget were Liveryman Harmony which are described as light/medium duty clippers or Masterclip Royale which are medium duty. Ideally I would have loved to get the Lister Liberty but unfortunately out of my price range.

My Masterclip Roamer clippers arrived ten days ago and my daughter gave her Arab x New forest hairy beast a full clip. They were noisier than the Lister or Liveryman cordless clippers which was a bit concerning as her horse is nervous but soon settled down. She did say they took a bit of getting used to as the battery pack is on the end of the clippers so they felt a little unbalanced until she got used to them. She did a full clip on her horse and our version of a neck and belly clip on my boy, all with one battery charge. They did a very good job and left a nice finish. Very, very pleased with them :)

friend has a set and they seem to clip well, not too loud and last a decent time. However same as above they are a bit unwieldy with the batterypack on the end like it is, friend had trouble clipping the bottom of the legs becasue the batterypack kept hitting the ground. Look like a good pair of clippers though, for a decent price. (although i much prefer my heiniger xplorers)

Just wanted to add my review on here in case anyone else was considering these clipper. I love them! Easily clipped my Haflinger today who has am immense coat! He wasn't as clean as he should have been, he was very scurfy and greasy over his bum, but they had no problem fully clipping out his body and left a good finish (my first time clipping so I was impressed!) I stopped every 2 minutes to give my pony a break as he is nervous of clippers. They never got hot, were not as loud as I expected and felt good in your hand. I was worried about their size as I have tiny hands, but they were light and easy to use and I would recommend them to anyone needing a battery clipper that is heavy duty.
