Hi, I currently have a yearling that is approximately 11.2hh. I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me an estimate of what height she may make?
We unfortunately have no information on the parents including height etc. Thanks.

Yep, this ^ Once they are over twelve months, measure from the middle of a front fetlock up to their elbow with a piece of string. Hold the string at the elbow and rotate 180° so that is vertical above their wither and then measure the difference to the top of the string and add that onto their current height.

When my youngest lad was a yearling I measured him with the string test, and it shows that he will grow to be ~16.3-17hh. Which is troubling, as his parents are both just 16h and I was hoping for a smaller horse. :D :D :D He has already, as an almost 3yo, overgrown them, so I fear that the string test, is, in fact, an accurate guess.

I have always done the lead rope from elbow to fetlock( ergot) then reverse keeping the end on the elbow still in place it to give me an idea
