Maulting????

OK pickle is maulting now! I think that is a bit strange, as he is the only horse on the whole yard that is (Large RS yard!) His old owners mentioned he sometimes had iron defiency problems when he maults, which vets believe is true allthough slightly strange. I only give this supplement if he is maulting at strange times.

Is he maulting at a bit of a strange time of year? or is it perfectly normal?

Mine is at the moment and has been for a few eeks, winter coat growing

Well, all my horses moulted (and PF still does) at the end of summer prior to getting their winter coats. I think it's normal(ish) at this time of year, especially if you've been getting a bit of cold weather.

mine have started to looked a bit fluffy (esp the minis). Think it is the lack of sunshine

Lance is getting fluffy, Beau is moulting, I dont think they know if they are coming or going with this weather!

mine is moulting but also growing winter hairs at the same time !!

i know a horse that moults every august bank holiday and we are placing bets for next monday so panic ye not!
