hmm, I think less - maybe 12 stone? Supposed it depends what you mum wants to do as well?

oh she's a complete novice! She'd only be pottering around at a walk. Well, initially anyway. Depends how much she enjoys it - she may want to learn properly!!

Any thoughts on the max weight for the 12.2? She may be going out on loan soon (pregnancy test pending!

), so I'd like to know. I'm 5' 5" and about 9st and she seems to carry me no probs at all. Do you reckon that's ok? x x x

I can't really say for the 12.2 but I'm 11 stone 11lb and 5ft11 tall and have ridden a 13.2 for a friend and he had no probs carrying me although I wouldn't jump him.

My own horse is a 15.2 TB and I wouldn't put more than 14stone on him, infact I think that would be pushing it - hence the weight loss when I was 13 stone!!

My daughters ID x is 15.1 hh and I would say the maximum for him would be about 12 stone. A novice rider would often ride heavier than a more experienced one wouldn't they? On a similar subject, my daughters old pony is 13hh and I would say section B type. She would dearly love to show her in veteran this year. However daughter is about 5'6" and weighs about 9 stone. She takes the pony for little hacks and she is fine, but do you think it would be frowned upon in the ring. I should add that she is 19 and acts like a 5 year old. (pony not daughter). The main reason my daughter is riding her is because we can't find a smaller child brave enough!

I have the same problem with Dolly! She CAN be an angel, but will really try it on if she feels like! Wouldn't trust her with a kid off the lead rein. I know a lot of M&M types seem to be ridden in shows by people who look too big for them, so i'd be tempted! Your daughters pony is taller than Doll, so I'd deffinately give it a go! If the judge says anything, then just tell him/her that you're the only one who can ride her and she doesnt struggle with the weight, so you cant see the problem!

I agree with the 12 stone thing though. Thank you! x x
