I've got one ready for backing Miloh.
They are good little saddles, they withstand a lot! They are indeed by Thorowgood. I wouldn't have one for permanent riding, as I don't think they are comfy enough for regular rides but that's just me :)

I agree with Cobrastyle - they are very lightweight so I got one for my old girl. She found it fine, I found it to be a bum-number. I had a lovely sheepskin seatsaver, and thought that would help, but it didn't "stick" to the saddle, it stuck to my jods. Very uncomfy in rising trot :p (seatsaver was fine on leather and leather-look saddles, just didn't like the fabric of the Maxam)

I love em, used mine from just after Liesel was backed (meaning to move onto something else)....shes now rising 9 and we are still with it!

There are more comfy saddles around but it fits her, is tough so it doesnt matter if its rained on or gets scuffed, and one really important thing I think gets forgotten, it is really light which is nice for the horse and for me!

Not saying I would turn down a lovely leather saddle as an addition, but I wouldnt do a swap if it meant giving up this one.
