So am guessing it was measured out of Pony classes as has just done very well at SLM in the Intermediate coming 12th and my understanding is that ponies are not allowed to do intermediates.
no its still a pony appareantly (it was down as 14.2 in programme), however she was riding 5 ponies/horses over two days.. if she has an accident from doing this aged 15 then it will be spoiled for the other juniors when they are limited to one horse.... its not jealousy but i just feel really sorry for other juniors if this happens
just to clarify, i think alfie rode fantastically and im not taking it away from her, but at 15 riding that many is seriously increasing chance of accident!
Why should her having an accident have anything to do with the other juniors?? Or for that matter her riding 5 horses (they would have been over several days)
they were over two days, there is no problem with it except that as a 15 year old it is increasing the risk of accident, and if she did then BE might bring in a limit to riding one for under u16s maybe? just think it asks alot of her (or any junior!), but dont get me wrong i think she is a fantastic rider!
I have no idea, I personally don't see what is wrong with riding 5 horses/ponies over 2 days. An accident could happen to anybody, any age regardless of how many horses you are riding
Thanks Beth - that makes a lot of sense as Mayflower clearly found it no hardship with the upgrade. Incredible as only in its 3rd season of eventing and round what is a tough course. CB is definately the right person to be able to make an informed decision on the ability of the rider and ponys abilities.
I saw Althea SJ last year and she blew my socks off with how proffessional she is. Really talented.
Alfie also rides my ex-FEI dressage pony in eventing pony trials and I think she's probably the most talented, professional 15 year old I've ever seen! (Then again, I'm only 16 so what do I know?!)
