As of my previous post about G's leg I've spoken to a few friends and ther reccomended McTimoney chiropractics (sp?)
What's your experiences of them?
Can anyone recommend one around Shropshire?
And around how much does it cost as were mearly 'broke' :/
Thanks in advance :)

I have used McTimoney chiros for several years. The horses seem to love the treatments - a couple of them have gone really soppy for several hours afterwards. Also seems to make the horses feel/go better afterwards. No miracles, just happier, straighter, bendier.

It stopped my youngster losing shoes - that's the treatment I remember most. One treatment and he went from pulling of a shoe at least once a fortnight to not losing another shoe for several years.

Not too expensive £40-50 per horse per treatment, but I'm down South so can't recommend anyone your way, sorry.

Thanks, I think I'll ask the local riding school, I have a feeling they have one x

yep I have used them before, it helped my boy to become more even on both reins so much so that I have now forgotton whivh one was his worse one :o. Sorry I cant help with a local one but theres someone at my yard who is training and I find it very interesting what they can find, I often have a poke after she has.

We have used one for several years now and I have noticed the difference in my horse after treatment. Especially when there has been an obvious problem (one he'd hurt his back crawling under a fence - he's 16hh, he shouldn't be doing that! Lol)

I have had him give the once over to my youngster and he had found he was a little uneven (possibly from a previous fall) and even the baby who can be a bit bitey and defensive was very well behaved and seemed to love it. got him coming out again for him as I think he has done something to his neck following a bit of an accident when he was tied up a few weeks ago!

Ours is between £45 and £60 a session (£60 is if he's at one of his clinics). However, if he feels there is nothing wrong with the horse he will not charge that.

I a not an 'airy fairy' person but neither am I a sceptic, I can only speak as I find. I had one treat my girl and I noticed a big improvement even when I walked her in hand, she wasn't lame but had a right issue with her shoulder. I can reccomend. The change in my mare was fantastic, sometimes when the problem occurs gradually over time, you just don't realise it, to see the change, overnight, was brilliant. For me £50 very well spent. Even if there is nothing wrong, there is nothing like peace of mind.

My friend had a 'problem' horse and had his back checked by a 'recommended' mctimoney person, she said there was nothing wrong with the horses back etc. Got a chiropractor out and found bad back/pelvis/neck. Since then I personally wouldnt go near a mctimoney person again. Of course I am not at all saying all mctimoney people are like this but just speaking from my own experience.
