 As title says really....

I've recently moved yards as we've now got 2 ponies for our little madam!
So have moved to the farm at the end of the village and are on DIY (big shock to the system after being FL) anyhoo....

Farm is very small and only has 6 boxes. Was up yesterday morning mucking out and in comes the girlie next to me, nicest family you could ever meet - lovely lovely people. Her Dad brought her up in the car to turn out their 2 horses, both quite bolshy in the morning and she was in her fleecey jammies, jacket and baffies!!

She took the horses out to the field, came back, chucked some poop in the barrow and her Dad took it to the muck heap and she filled the water buckets back up. Then they jumped in the car and left!

Now I'm left wondering.... did she go up the road and sit in her jammies for a wee while after mucking out? and wearing the baffies around the house??

Has anyone else ever witnessed someone mucking out in their pj's??

I did it this morning! First time, probably only time. Had to turn two out as had left them in last night. Woke up late and had a mad rush to walk up to the yard, bet I looked a right sight but oh well! Horses weren't bothered :)

I used to put wellies and coat over my pjs just to drive up to the yard to feed and turn out until I got there one morning to find my horse colicking. I had to call the emergency vet and then felt very embarrassed about being in pjs. Never done it since!

I know quite a few people who do their horses in their pyjamas if they keep them at home, but not known anyone doing it at a public yard! However knowing how slow teenage girls can be getting changed I wonder if the Dad thought it was the speediest way to get the horses done!

Just read your comment about baffies - have never known anyone do horses in their slippers - always wellies with pyjamas.

I've done late night checks/waters/feeds in my pajamas (the stables are just outside the back door!) but wouldn't do anything other than that - I'd stink of horse :D! Definitely wouldn't go out in public like that haha x

Ok I could understand if you kept them at home. But the farmer is an auld fella, and this family live a couple of villages away!

Yep. Old jammies and wellies and jumper and do night check in jammies and dressing gown and wellies. It is my yard tho....not sure I'd do it in public! Haha tho the girl who keeps her pony here does it as well :)

I often shove a coat on and stick my Welles on with my jammies underneath - usually if madam is being flung straight and and all jobs done later. I did used to get the odd look but not now :)

Me this morning...

crawl out of bed in PJ's, put slippers on, fluffy jacket thing (which I think is actually a bum length dressing gown from primark) kettle on, put on warm coat, go out the back door into feed room, make up 3 feeds, and go and feed my 3, all in the paddocks (at home) back in, make coffee and get back in bed with laptop....

do the same in summer but in a nightie... or when its hot (july/august) slip a dressing gown on as its to hot to wear anything..

though... I would draw the line of going to a yard in pj's ....

I do late nights in PJs and will throw them out in the too - but they are in my back garden and I never see anyone. Not sure I'd muck out - hate to be lying in bed and have the smell wafting up from my clothes !!!

I used to stick a track suit over the top and nip down the garden to feed, hay and water when I was a teen and had been out for the night. They were kept at home, so nobody saw. Wouldn't dream of it now, I just send my husband!

I used to find it amazing when I went out with a guy from Liverpool, just how many people went out to the shops/chippie in their jammies.

Don't think I would do it in public but I usually skip out/feed/water in my pj's and Ugg boots - horses outside the back door though

I do everything in my pajamas - walk the dogs, do the horses, go to Sainsburys. I draw the line at going into work in them, although some days I am sorely tempted.

Wow! Maybe just me that was abit  at this then!

I wouldn't even answer the door in my PJ's never mind leave the house in them!

I often turn out in the mornings in my pyjamas but I have 'yard PJs' ie thick warm fleecy ones that don't get worn in bed :P There's just us and the YO on the yard and she doesn't care haha

I never mucked out in my PJ's, but me and my sister used to go up before school in jammies, as did about 8 other girls at the yard (It was mainly a teenage pony club yard), we used to give ponies breakfast whilst we did haynets, dinners and waters and then ride them out to the field in their headcollar and leadrope already in turnout rugs in our pj's. But we would muck out after school in our yard clothes... At pony club our instructor gave us midnight dressage lessons and midnight showjumping lessons in our PJ's and slippers (we weren't allowed stirrups). Our poor ponies... Horsey now doesn't get subjected to the same treatment though! :D

What's baffies?

Yes I do, but they are old/lounging pyjamas, not actually the ones I wear to bed or in the house!

My daughter does the same, she has a locally famous pair of pink and white jammie bottoms, has been known to ride in them too.

My sister wears her pyjamas in the winter to do the horses she cares for- she whacks on full chaps over the top, and wears joddy boots, and a blouson coat. But she gets home after doing them all (including riding out), and goes back and has a nap :D

When we were at Trailblazers I went to feed/hay/muck out both mornings in my pjs and wellies. We used to do it when we were at 3 days too, many moons ago!!! Both very public places, ah well must be a bit of an exhibitionist!!!

I do late night checks/hay in fleece jammies, rigger boots and a coat. I have been known to skip out horse in jammies if he's staying in to be worked. don't actually sleep in jammies though. :o

Mine are at home and if I wake up late I will put wellies and a jacket on and take them their breakfast.
I wouldn't muck out in them though! Nor wear slippers around the horses.
It's too cold here apart for anything else!

At stop over show's you see people every morning mucking out in onesie's and jim jams!! When i had my horses at home i often used to feed and hay round in jim jams.

I have only ever been out in public in my pjs once when I had to go to the doctors.

It takes 5 minutes to change clothes! Going back to bed in pjs you've done the horses in.. Gross!!
