I left the yard at half 7 this morning, hacked upto a friends yard and a group of 6 of us hacked upto the meet and we got there just before half past. So we paid and set-off.... We weren't stood around to long before our first canter around a lake sort of thing.
yeah right could i control him! we got to a tight turn that went straight over a narrow bridge with drops either side, i made an emergency yank on the right rein and spun him the opposite way. Once we were stopped he was fine it was just stopping.
Then into a very big open field, again another emergency tug to the right to stop him yanking his head down.
After that he was FABULOUS!, still very strong for a while but once we were going i could slow him up and speed him up as i wanted however he has to stop when he wants to as he follows everyone else so if i ask him to slow down before he thinks they've stopped he gets silly. This did result in a few crashes but luckily everyone was fine.
Then we had a lovely canter up round a hill etc and instead of using the bit i spoke to him which ment we slowed down earlier and stopped as we got to the pack rather crashing in to them.
He didn't buck much apart from one HUGE one as the whole pack broke straight into a mad gallop so a huge buck then he went but that was the only time he did it!
He was calm the whole time and stood still really well, un-fortunately no jumping but i think that was best for our first time.
I stayed until the very end! Which was half 8 until 12!!! Lol it was lovely and sunny to which was fortunate although i think i would have enjoyed it whatever the weather.
They were a really friendly bunch the guy collecting cap commented on how lovely Lantern is and asked if i was going to be out over the season. And i had a chat to the master said thankyou etc and he asked if i'd had a good time then asked if i was going out on Friday as they are meeting nearby! So i might do that
Got away with a Navy as well plus i wasn't the only one in navy
All in all had an amazing day and i can't wait to go out again!
