Lunging why is this heppenIng all of a sudden, has any one else found this ?

Also how much do you do each side? I have had to bring it down to 4 mins per side twice aday other wise I can't stand up :(

I had vertigo (not fear of heights...loss of balance) and since then I have had a similar problem, it's loads better than it was though.

My mums had ongoing dizziness since March.
She's seen doctors, and the specialist, and hers is caused by a virus thats changed the balance of her middle ear.
There is a specialist type of physio that can be done to help re-allign the middle ear, but you have to rule out everything else.
At the moment she has good days and bad days. Although she's not affected whilst riding.
May be worth going to the doctors as there is medication that can help if you get sickness too

Try lunging eliptically - walk up and down in the middle. Better for the horse and better for you :D

Also, don't look at the horse's legs all the time, just a few odd glances to see if the horse is tracking up, moving straight, etc.

The Dr, gave me drugs for the vertigo but the difference in balance has persisted. Still have good balance...just not a hot as it was. There was nothing really I could do to help it....don't know what yours is like to lunge but mine is so good I could when it got bad stand still and pass the line from one hand to the other behind me. If I did that for a min every now and again I could keep going. I wouldn't try that with a horse I didn't know or one that was not really good to lunge. It's not the way it's meant to be done! But I guess it's better than falling over or chucking up.
