Meal sizes

Hello all

Old mare is on a conditioning feed to maintain weight. If the best option is to feed little and often, and she has a bucket feed morning and night, how much feed weight wise should each meal contain to be effective but not too big that she doesn't digest it?
Mare is 13.1 Welsh. Currently being fed sugarbeet, Alfa A molasses free and micronised linseed.

Little and often is 3/4 meals a day, two a day isn’t little and often. I’d work on under a kilogram of weight of the combined ingredients you are feeding and of course it ll depend on how much water the beet soaks up..the volume a pony s stomach can take isn’t huge. Our oldie is enjoying Baileys meadow cobs soaked either on their own or as a base for supplements/ balancer.
