Mear Ladies Hunt Coat sizing?

I'm looking to buy a second hand hunt coat. All my other jackets are a size 34 (I'm normally a size 10 on top) and I only wear a short sleeved short underneath. I'm thinking I might be better to go up to a 36 for hunt coat so that I can get lots of layers underneath i.e. long sleeved hunt shirt, jumper etc.

I've seen a Mears jacket online. How do they come up size wise? I've read that they come up big. I don't want to buy a 36 and be swamped by it.

Thanks

My daughter had a 36" mears and usually wears a 34 off the peg. Her bespoke equiport (for SJ not hunting!) is based on a 32! We too wanted space for the warm layers and she certainly isn't swamped. She's a size 8 and stands about 5'4 if that helps.

Thanks Shay that's useful to know. I'm 5'6 with orangutang arms so not worried about length. Alot of 34 jackets are too short in the arms for me.

I have a 36'' Mears and it is a good fit - roomy enough to put a wool waistcoat or l/w jumper underneath, but snug enough not to be 'floaty' without.

I am a size 12.

I have a Mears coat on order at the moment. I ordered a 34, I'm a size 8 but well endowed in the chest area.... When trying on I found there was plenty of space for more layers, I just had to get one on order as apparently I have longer arms
