Measuring a saddle

I know ideally you would try saddles on to know what size you need but it isn't always possible! Nearest saddlery is over 2 hours away and transport is an issue.

How do you measure for a saddle and know what width you need before you order?

Proably not going to explain this very well butt... Get one of those flexi things or extra long pipe cleaner, mould to horses wither and then trace line on to paper. This will give you a template to send to the saddlers.
