Measuring Bone

We've just got a little cob and I've heard people talking about how much bone a horse has. I just wondered how do you measure how much bone a horse has?

What you need to do is get a tape measure and put it around the Cannon bone and this will tell you what amount of bone your horse has, you need to go around the bone to measure, my horse is a Irish Draught and she has 9' of bone, hope this helps

Measure the circumference of the front leg about 1 inch below the bottom of the knee
