Measuring for a saddle

Any tips/advice on measuring for a saddle. We don't currently have one for our new pony, so it's a start from scratch job. She is only 12.2hh and will be ridden by a tiny tot for short hacks only, at the moment.

The saddler will be coming out soon, but I would like some help, so I can get a rough idea of what saddles are available in my size range and prices.

Are you looking for a proper leather saddle? You might be best starting with one of the synthetic cub saddles complete with grab handle, unless you are planning to do some LR showing
