Measuring for easy boot gloves

:confused: Can anyone hold my hand :o

One foot is 112mm wide and just under 112mm long and the other one is 111mm wide and just under 112mm long.

I have read the measuring guide but I am too thick to understand what size I need as they seem to be ok one way but too big the other??

Any advice?:)
 
I found the easiest way was to take a piece of board to the yard and tape a piece of paper onto it. Persuade my horse to put his foot down squarely (ish!) on the paper and then get down on my hands and knees and draw around the exact edge with a pencil. Do this for each hoof and then measure the edges.

I went for Epics as my lad was slightly wider than long and we used pads inside the boots to help take up the gap.

Going back to the paper, when the boots arrive, cut out the images and insert those into the boots for a good idea of fit before you try them... and when you do put a plastic bag over your horse's hoof just in case you need to return the boots as this will help to keep them clean (especially at this time of year!)

Allow a 5mm for growth between trims. If your horse is newly barefoot, bear in mind that he/she will probably go down a size too as their hoof tightens and shrinks slightly in the first few months. :)

ETA: I seem to remember a small rubber mallet helps to get Gloves on!!
 
Email the Easyboot website. They are really helpful and spot-on with their advice (as they should be!). When I've emailed them in the past, they've replied really quickly.

Also, I would recommend hiring the 'Fit kit' to try out some glove shells. It's really helpful to see how different sizes fit before buying a set. :)
 
Ok I can draw round her foot but the rest I am like :eek:

She hasn't had shoes on her whole life apart from once when she was backed, but I only bought her a month ago and have worn her feet out :o. She is 4 so hasn't been worked apart from when she was backed, until I bought her.
 
may be worth seeing if you can find a trimmer to do the fitting, they will often do the fitting free or cut price if you buy the boots from them and they tend to use the easycare range. Also worth a search on you tube quite a few videos on there about fitting them.

the above link shows the sizes and how to measure. In theory provided the measurements are correct you want the smallest size in the wide fitting.
Before ordering I would just double check your length measurement.
It is easier to measure the length if you use a second ruler and put it across the heel butresses then you have a definite line to measure up to.
 
The Wide version would prob suit better but the standard can still be an ok fit.

Seriously, get the fit kit. I've found they end up fitting nothing like the measurements . My horse had feet 148mm wide by 135mm long and ended up in size 3's!

forgot to say its worth getting the "fit kit" if you are going to fit them yourself
