I've been searching google and this forum for places that have a mechanical horse, in the Yorkshire area, or North East. I found a thread from 2010 but nothing more recent, so I apologise if I've missed a more recent thread.

I know I ride wonky and have a stiff right hip, but although I do try to correct it when riding it's difficult when I need to concentrate on so many other things (such as keeping lazy pony going and also going in a straight line!)

I would love a session on a mechanical horse, so I can concentrate on my posture and straightness and also have someone there to help get me right!

Can anyone recommend anywhere please? I've seen the one at Bishop Burton but the website doesn't make it clear if it's open to the public, and also if there is an instructor there or you need to bring your own.

Many thanks :-)

brilliant, thank you.
there's a good choice in the leeds area! (despite living up here for years I still forget how big Yorkshire is!)
I'll treat myself to a day out and buzz down the A1, think my pony will thank me for it!

Saw the Bishop Burton one at Bramham: they said yes it's open to the public, and I'm pretty sure they'll instruct too. If you ring the college they should be able to put you through to the right place.

In the North East we have one at Cote Hill Riding Centre (Jo teaches Centred Riding and has improved my riding immeasurably) and one at Leamside Equestrian, Sam Brown was on the Young Riders British Dressage Team. So we have a very good choice in Durham 😊

Also try Personal Best, at Sessay near Thirsk.

Must admit I don't think the mech horses really give a feel - but she is very good for telling you where you are wrong....which is most places in my case. But I usually keep horse under me. Famous last.
