Following on from my previous post about my horse that sustained a stifle injury, a brief update. Vet came out a month ago, trotted up sound, said restart work and can have full turnout. Both were introduced slowly and he is going about 45min hacking in straight lines on road. The swelling has almost gone but there is a small amount of effusion present, this is going down. Vet Came last night and I am gutted, he wasn't quite level behind. It's less than a tenth, vet said prob due to boggy field, increase in work and wants to medicate joint to settle down the inflammation. Or he said I can rest another month and go from there. My gut is saying to wait and see if it settles in its own before sticking needles in joint, I am the unluckiest person and I can guarantee that it will be mine that gets a complication from the injection!!i was also considering getting my physio to check there is nothing else muscular going on, we know there was a haematoma in the muscle so maybe this has flared up. Thoughts? Thanks
