My girl had her coffin joint and fetlock joint medicated last Monday. Had to keep her in one day but opted for an extra day as our grass is so good and paranoid of laminits.
Took her to the vets last Monday and managed to stay for the lameness workup which showed hardly any lameness despite flexion tests. Vet kept saying he didn't think it was coffin joint issues even at the end of all the tests and examinations but I was convinced. Then he pressed on it at the coronet band and she jumped through the roof much to my joy. Tried it again same result. I was chuffed, but not because I'd been right all along, but because of all the possible scenarios it was probably the best result.
Anyway turned out on Weds for an hour before she was due to go out all day the following day and she ran around like a looney but then settled.
Was really worried about her running around but it was clear that in hand her head carriage had become elevated and she stode out so much better.
So told i could walk on flat under saddle for up to 30m twice weekly. Today with much trepidation after her equissage trestment I tacked up and hacked around the 20m block. Much to my delight instead of shuffling lamely from the mounting block in an arc as she used to she felt so much better and turned normally. She's holding her head higher, striding out and she didn't even jog on the way home wheras last time we did that hack she was a total nightmare. She actually felt so much better. I am delighted.
