Hi there :) I'm looking for a medium weight turnout rug, with detachable neck. I've had trouble with a one rug leaking and the neck shriveling up and being no use at all. I have another medium weight rug that is so light it doesn't keep him warm! So was wondering whether anyone could recommend a medium weight rug that doesn't leak and is nice and warm? :)

cant think of any mediums with detachables unless you get one of the all in ones with the shells and liners and seperate hoods, like the tristar to the horsware version? but i have a shires medium weight which has been fab but for the sake of a good neck on it i would go a size up :)

My horse has had her PE one for the past 3 years and I love it. Have just brought my new boy one too. You can add liners to them for extra warmth so only need that one rug all year round

Hmmm premier equine, looks quite pricey, but worth it do you think? I've had shires before it was brilliant for keeping him dry but did rub. A size up for a good neck seems a good idea. Thank you for your replies :)

My PE is huuge! It is 7 years old tho so maybe they've changed the fit.

Look at Swish rugs, much cheaper than PE and my 3 of them are all fine. Only thing to bear in mind is the £40 green 200g I have for my big WB (see their clearance page) is skimpy in terms of depth. My red 360g neck one is very deep tho. I'm happy with price, fit, and water tighness otherwise!

JHL (Jumpers Horse Line) do a nice medium and I bought the detachable neck separately too. Had it over a year and it's still in good condition. Would recommend.
