Hi,
I'm just looking into getting my new horse a medium weight turnout rug and I'm just trying to weigh up the options. I want one which is generous at the front (welsh cob with big front and big neck!) quite lnog in the neck and doesn't fall down (if a full neck one!) an fairly hardwearing (not indestructable but would last more than a few wears!)

I like the look of the mark todd rugs and the amigo ones- do these meet my criteria??
Also the weatherbeeta seem to have a lot of variations, what are the genero like quality wise? and how is the freestyle landa different from the original?
And one last question!! what are the jhl rugs like?
Thanks

It may sound like I am on commission for Mark Todd :D as I am always saying Buy Mark Todd whenever someone asks :D But I'm not :D

MT are fab! Very generous in the chest/neck. Lovely quality.

Highly recommend them :)

I was in a similar position to you last year. Phil has a huge chest and neck :o I went with an amigo, fitted lovely, no rubs, he was nice and warm but not too hot, lovely deep rug too. I got the 1200d because of our fences, he managed to rip along the bottom (where there is no liner) and it had a few little nicks but nothing major until we figure he must've rolled and caught his leg somehow. He literally popped the front straps off  I suppose that isn't good as it wasn't indestructible HOWEVER I am glad at the way he obviously managed to get out without doing damage to himself and it will be easy to fix lol.

Plus here it's only £43

Premier Equine do a 200g MW rug - great fit and comes with a detachable neck rug (which doesn't fall down) - they are pricey - £105, but well worth it as they last for yrs and yrs and wash up like new every time!
