I cant remember if i posted about our labrador litter prebiously or not, but if not, we currently have a lovely litter of 9 choccie labs that are 7 weeks old. Bred the litter for me to have a new pup to show and a new labrador as Riley had to move in with my mum about a year ago as my work hours made it impossible to get him to all of his vets appointments (the chemo usually involved waiting around at the vets for a morning!!) and we thought he'd be happier with his brother, sisters and mum..

Well, a lot of you will know that we very sadly lost Riley at the beginning of this month so its a little bittersweet having this new pup. If she was black i dont think i could have brought her home as she would have reminded me too much of poor Riley!!

Anyway, on with some happier things... I am keeping one and she is lovely. She is one i kept picking out from about 3 weeks of age. Abeautiful, chunky girl with a real old fashioned show-lab head that i love. One thing that has changed is her name, she was due to be Rosie cos... Well, its cute!! But, I thought it would be nice to name her with Riley in mind and he was named after a character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (my favoirite programme when he was born!!) so i decided to go on that theme again. So, she is now Anya :D If anyone remembers the character - lets hope the pup doesnt have her ditzy personality lol!!

Anyway, here she is!

she's lovely - i would love one of those but unfortunately i work 3 days and am away too long to leave a dog - maybe one day soon!

Just gorgeous. I too am a choccie owner and your photos take me back. Mine is three next week.

Have fun with her!

:D Oooohh! Yummy, scrummy little pup! :D

I'm a firm believer that a new pup can often mend the most broken of hearts. Anya is gorgeous and I wsih you many, many happy years together! :D

Regular updates are, as you know, a requirement on here! ;);):D

It's amazing, you probably breed more pups than any of the 'irresponsible' people slammed fo rbreeding their jack russel once etc. on here and yet still you get 'cute puppy' replies.

You really are deeply unpleasant aren't you?:o

UnaB may breed from her dogs but they are all health checked and she has homes for all of them - in short she does it the 'responsible' way. Her dogs have always had the best care - vets and otherwise - look at the care her lovely Riley had until the end:(

Seeing how you have nothing nice to say why not just say nothing at all?

O and don't start banging on about how you rescue dogs etc etc etc we all know that and we abhor backyard breeders but to put UnaB in the same category is just deeply unpleasant:(

Oh, good grief!

SusieT - may I suggest you go and read UnaB's other post about Maya's pups, and especially the part where she tells us that Solar didn't go to his new home because of doubts about the people............:rolleyes:

Then you might begin to understand why other forum members react so well to UnaB and her dogs..............:rolleyes::mad:

or what she says she does.. theres 8 labrador pups in new homes. 8 dog homes that rescue dogs might have had. plus the basenji pups. plus the chiuahua litter. plus previous lab litters. it all adds up to a lot of dogs, not helping the overproduction problem. and yet never mentioned. So I'm going to mention it because it is not ok just to keep producing litters and have one for the show ring. its ridiculous in fact.

They are cute puppies though ;)

Not all of the litters i post on here are my own that "i" have bred, like this one for example is not mine - i had no say in this litter as it isnt my bitch, im just having a puppy from the litter :) I had one litter myself last year (basenjis in December) and currently have one litter of pugs that my mum is having a boy from to show, thats all i have planned for the forseeable future. We breed for a pup to show and between myself and my mum we own 4 breeds - she has her dogs and i have mine, my breeds are the basenjis and pugs although i have been brought up with labs, hence having one of my own :)

And as mentioned, they are ALL health tested, above and beyond what the KC recommends all are proven showdogs and they all live in the house as part of the family - Maya, Delilah and Evie sleep in bed with me at night!! I do believe those being "slammed" as irresponsible are probably being done so for breeding from unproven/unhealth-tested dogs rather than how many times the person has/will have a litter. But, i havent been on here in a while so havent seen the post in question.

Thanks for the lovely comments about Anya, i cant wait to get her home. There is certainly a real gap in our lives since Riley left us, i hope she can fill that in time

People get one of our puppies becaause they want a purebred, pedigree puppy with paperwork, parents wwho can be viewed and often with a show record and show potential. Those arent people who want a rescue. We very often get enquiries for older dogs and i always point them in the direction of their local (or breed) rescue in those instances.

SusieT you're being rather unpleasant...
Why spoil what is a happy post to make a point, go and open another thread and stop being such a cow!!!
As another said, if you can't be nice don't say anything at all...

Why can't people be nice on this forum. I'm getting fed up of people who think that hiding behind a computer makes it ok to be so bloody rude - im sure alot of it wouldn't be said face to face in a room!

RANT OVER!!!!!!!!!
