The new mare turned up on Saturday. She was sold to me as difficult to load, but, after a few minutes spent taking a really good look at the trailer to make sure nothing was going to kill her, walked straight on and was as good as gold for the whole 3.5 hr journey.
Here she is in the new stable:
She came to me as 'Treacle', but has been rechristened 'Harmony', as that is what we hope to achieve!
Did a bit of join up with her on Sunday - at a walk as she refused to go any faster, but she was following me around quite happily within about 5 mins, so on Monday I jumped on her and tried her in the school. New bridle looks quite nice on her:
Sorry about the rubbish images, my camera doesn't seem to like the light conditions.
She's been great so far; little bit lazy in the school and I'm not yet fit enough to stop her taking the p*** a bit with me, but we'll get there in the end. We have a lesson tomorrow morning so I'll get lots of lovely tips for schooling, and we'll try hacking out later in the week.
Didn't go to see her today as she is on part livery so gets fed, hayed and watered without me, and I'd decided not to ride - but felt really guilty about not spending some time with her so will make sure from now on (until life gets in the way) that I do go over, if only to say hello.
