Meet Quarrie

A delightful pup, though as Smitty says, those boots are at serious risk! :)

The appeal of such pups, for me, isn't in their cuteness and the sheer delight of them, but working out just where they are in life and wondering if and when they need encouragement or correction. Allowing them to develop and in a way which fits in with me is the appeal.

He's a very smart pup MoC, and how he develops will be entirely up to you. I'm quite sure that you will mould him in to the dog which you want.

Alec.

aww, thanks everyone-I hope we can do him justice. I am aware that this is the easy stage! His mother is a lovely dog and from a long line of calm, lovely natured dogs so I'm told so hopefully he'll inherit some of that.

Absolutely gorgeous! I'm feeling very broody for another puppy but OH is adamant that we're not getting one - he's probably right but looking at these pictures isn't helping me being rational.

Same here, my OH rarely really puts his foot down but when he does say no he means it. He says one in, one out now, which makes sense really but... and I already have the next pup ordered (but not for this year).
I love puppies, that smell, those ears, but do agree that the best dog is an adult who you have made and is your best friend.

Very cute, I get to play with puppies every Wednesday and then hand them back, it has been a long time since I have had I've had of my own and there is no one telling me I can't.

What a cute little chap. Hope your Uggs and walking boot have survived so far :) Do you have any plans for him?

ETA: I did know a dog called Quarrie once- Sister's parents in law walked a hound pup with that name. He was a handful- moreso than their usual hound pup's :)

Ha, hope that's not an omen S_K :D no plans atm other to make him a good, well socialised family dog.

I wanted a Scottish name but I couldn't go too Gaelic because I am English-can't roll my 'r's or do the 'ch' sound very well. I knew I would annoy myself if I badly pronounced a name for years! I really liked Darach (oak-actually evolved into Derek!) but didn't choose it for those reasons. My first choice was Sorley but OH vetoed it as he once knew a right twonk called Sorley. We both liked this one though from the start.

He's not really chewing atm, just checking everything out with his mouth-although he does like to steal the uggs when I try and take them off/put them on. He's too cute-although the cat isn't yet convinced.

well, he's obviously some kind of puppy prodigy-he just asked to go out for a poop :) and I had to prise him out of the arms of the vet nurses this morning. He's almost 10kg do carrying him about for a couple of weeks is going to be fun.

I am really impressed by you people carrying your puppies around, I never have. (Not being sarcastic, I really do think it is impressive). We are lucky and live on a farm/madhouse where they see pretty well everything without going off piste.

I think I need some sort of child back pack :p

its only when I am in places where there are likely to be unvaccinated dogs tbh-so when I take him into town or PaH for example. TBH I've not got much else to do so I have the time to! And its pretty quiet here so although he'll see all the important stuff (stock etc) I want him to see busier places with more traffic, people, bright lights big city :p etc.
