i use Aquamax which I think is pretty much the same - wooden pellets that you water??
If so it's fab - has completely changed my attitude towards mucking out. I have it on rubber matting and it never takes more than 5 minutes to muck out!
Megazorb's quite different to Aquamax, I've used both but prefered megazorb (though Aquamax was good too
)
It comes in sacks and is little paper/foam looking bubble bits(!) which are super absorbant. I'd say it's best used on rubber matting, it was proving too expensive for me hence why I went back to shavings.
I used to use Megazorb and can honestly say its the best bedding I have ever had. Am back on shavings now (I changed yards) and am spending a lot more on those than I ever did on Megazorb.
IME used correctly Megazorb is unbelievably good and econimical.
I use megazorb, it's the best bedding in the world!!!!ever!!! good for deep litter or on top of matting. I have tried out most beddings as i used to run a yard that all the companies used to contact to trial bedding types and this was by far the quickest, cheapest and produced the least waste.
oooh Im not too far from Wallingford, as I am near to Newbury and I work in Sonning Common. Can you let me know who it is please - then when I have used this lot up I could pick some up and save on the delivery cost.
I should have asked on here really, shouldnt I? Lol.
Well we all call it couscous!! Its weird stuff and even if your horse drags its feet it doesnt end up all mixed up. Gen loves nothing more than trying to mix his poo and wee into a sort of bedding stew - even he hasnt managed this with Megazorb!
That is what Grace is like... could I ask you a really strange question, could you take a picture of your bed and Pm me it? I am a real stickler about my beds, I think I have OCD
I use a thin later under my equisorb and take it out once a week. Its super absorbant and smeels lovely but i do find when i lay it the dust hurts my eyes if i disturb it too much.
I can get it locally for 5.76 a bag and the sacks are really useful to keep as well for rugs and stuff.
Folara, Total equestrian at Beenham on the A4 between Reading and Newbury stock it and according to the megazorb website so do cummins at Newbury. http://www.megazorb.co.uk/suppliers.htm
I love megazorb, its really easy to sift through for those little pesky bits off poo you just can't get! Its really absorbant (my mare pees like a racehorse
) and once you flatten it down it keeps its shape really well. I found that on shavings she used to lie down and the shavings would just move so she was on patches or rubber matting, but like I said once you flatten it it keeps it shape really well, I couldn't reccoment it more :3!
I bought a bag yesterday and put it down in the morning. My bed in the evening was like never before... dare I say it, Grace was clean!!! I will see how bad it is this morning and she is so very wet (she wees in one place only) and walks her bed around. But, I have ordered some to be delivered this weekend.
