Does anyone use this? Is it very absorbant?

I need a super absorbant dust free bedding to put on my rubber mats in my boys shelter which he has access to overnight and tends to wee and poo in ... He is very wet and I am hoping to just remove the wet once a week if poss so will deep litter it.

I've used aubiose before but taken wet out every day so have no experience of deep littering it but did like it.

I have read about megazorb and it appears to be more economical than aubiose.

Thanks

i found it "doesnt go very far" if that makes sense, i used it with easibed to bulk it out a bit which worked well but didnt last to long, my boys also ended up with a cough, i did keep it clean and didnt feed dusty hay or anything so all i can think off is that the bedding caused it, especially as i used as beddign for my rabbits who also found it dusty lol, it might be better depending on how open your shelter is ?

I use it Its best to deep litter and take wet patches out as and when. When I needed a deeper bed after surgery I put shavings on the top and deep littered.I find it works well for my disgustingly wet horse.

Used CORRECTLY it is the most absorbant and dust free bedding I have ever used.

It doesnt work if you keep disturbing it so IMO as a bedding to sprinkle onto mats its not really suitable. It needs to be a decent thickness and you leave the base undisturbed for a few weeks to start to bed down and knit together.

As a semi or true deep litter it is superb and if left for a very long time on true deep litter its actually quite easy to dig out with a garden fork and it doesnt smell too bad either.

Ive used it on semi deep ie skip out twice daily and tidy the top. Leave the wet until it starts to make its way up to the top and then just dig that patch out and replace with new. If you put it up weekly it does take a few days to knit together again underneath but it feels like a soft earth floor and encouraged my elderly horse to lie down much more than anythingelse he had been on.

I would go back to it like a flash if shavings got much more expensive.

I use a thin layer of megazorb under my equisorb.

I lay half a bag ish in the patches where shes wees are and lay a big bed of equisorb on the top.

I do find it a little dusty but i adore the smell and its VERY absorbant. It forms a hard base and i take the wet out once a week.

I would imagine that it wouldnt go far as a full bed and like someone has said you really need to not disturb it for it to work well.

Equisorb is fab tho as its heavier like aubiose and doesnt move about as much and is very absorbant too.

I started using it last year. My boy had been on straw and shavings and neither was good enough to keep a nice bed. I have since moved to aquimax because megaorb is not megaorbant enough and I found I was using more than I would of shavings. Aquimax has been fab so far.
