My shared horse has a megazorb bed, on top of rubber mats. We have found that it works best if you let it form a 'base' at the bottom, as it seems to compress into quite a good surface, the top will still be loose, then take out the wet and poo.
Shared ned is very messy, and although the bed never looks spotless, it is clean and comfortable for him.

I used to muck out for someone who was very very fussy and used megazorb, she did not let it compress, and we used to throw loads of it away unneccessarily (in my opoinion) , and it cost her loads, and the constant stirring up of it made the stables very very dusty, infact I used to wear a face mask, something which I have never needed to do with my own.
