...Can horses eat it? De-seeded and peeled obviously!

A friend in work has a 4year old son who goes through phases with the fruit he'll eat so she gives me a lot of what he's decided he doesn't like this week. She's offered me a slightly squidgy melon but I've never fed it to them before. I assume it won't do any harm, but thought I'd better double check!

Mine used to love a bit of melon although doesn't really anymore. Only a few slices at a time but i've never had a problem with feeding her it!

Yes, they like it. It's mostly water, but quite sugary. I wouldn't give them a lot (1 whole melon isn't a lot to a horse).

AH that's what you do with them after you set about them with that sword.

Exactly! Except I've had to swap to cauliflowers now due to recession (not kidding; melon bill was over £800 one year!), and one got so fond of melons that he'd bite the melon in passing.

.......see (apologies for post hijack).

Betcha I could :-) I have a very good horse who places me exactly where I need to be, as the training requires. And I have 15 years' practice.

I think I'd have trouble stabbing a space hopper. I could never do the bucket or flag races in the Pony Club gymkhana. I suppose having a horse who did most of it on his back legs didn't help, but I have zero eye-hand co-ordination!
